Fees and Payments

Fees for consultations.

If you are coming to see one of our surgeons for a consultation you will need to pay on the day of service. Our friendly Patient Coordinators will submit your paid invoice directly to Medicare and you will receive your rebate back to your nominated account.

If you have a dental procedure undertaken in our rooms your fee will also need to be paid on the day of service. The Patient Coordinator will provide you with a receipt of payment to submit to your private health fund. If your procedure includes any pathology we will bill Medicare directly for that.

It is rare for the estimate of fees to vary after the surgery.

Please note we do not have HICAPS.

Hospital accounts.

When you are undergoing a surgical procedure as an inpatient at a hospital the billing procedure can be confusing. There will be three independent accounts you will incur:

  1. The Surgeons fee
You will be provided with an ‘Estimate of Fees’ at the time of your consultation. This estimate will list the item number/s and costs associated with your procedure. The item number/s will either be a 3 digit code (for dental procedures) or a five digit code (for medical procedures). The day prior to your admission to hospital your surgeons Patient Coordinator will contact you to confirm your admission time to hospital, answer any questions you may have, and take your credit card details to process your account after your surgery. Once your payment has been processed you will be sent your invoice and receipt so that you are able to submit to Medicare and your private health fund as applicable.
  2. Hospital Fees
The fees related to your hospital admission will depend on your level of private health insurance. We strongly recommend that in the first instance you contact your fund to confirm that your policy will cover your hospital admission and if you have any excess to pay.
Self-funded or uninsured patients will be required to pay the hospital fees in full at the time of admission.
Your hospital admission may incur additional charges for pathology and pharmacy and these additional aspects of care will be billed separately.
  3. Anaesthetist Fees
Our Patient Coordinators will inform you who your anaesthetist will be when you book in for surgery. The anaesthetist’s rooms will send you a separate account for their services. This account is claimable through Medicare and/or your private health insurance fund.
